É uma honra retornar, ainda que virtualmente, à instituição onde fiz minha graduação em Ciência da Computação e onde também atuei como professor nos cursos de Ciência da Computação e Sistemas de Informação.

Entrevista (1,5 minutos)

Olá a todos. Meu nome é Ramon Figueiredo. Sou ex-aluno da Pontifícia Universidade Católica de Minas Gerais (PUC Minas) e fiz parte da equipe de produção do filme vencedor do Oscar, K-Pop Demon Hunters.

Durante minha graduação, fui bolsista integral do programa ProUni e também trabalhei como professor na universidade. Atualmente, trabalho como Engenheiro de Software Sênior na Sony Pictures Imageworks e fiz parte da equipe de engenharia do filme, que ganhou o Oscar de Melhor Filme de Animação e Melhor Canção Original.

No projeto, trabalhei na área de engenharia, desenvolvendo e garantindo as tecnologias que permitem aos artistas criar animações e efeitos visuais de alta qualidade e eficiência.

Minha formação na PUC Minas foi fundamental para me permitir construir essa trajetória profissional e trabalhar em grandes produções cinematográficas internacionais.

Se eu pudesse dar um conselho para quem está estudando, seria: aproveitem as oportunidades, dediquem-se e não tenham medo de sonhar grande. A universidade pode ser o início de caminhos incríveis.

It is an honor to return, even virtually, to the institution where I earned my degree in Computer Science and where I also worked as a professor in the Computer Science and Information Systems programs.

Interview (1.5 minutes)

Hi everyone. My name is Ramon Figueiredo. I’m a former student of PUC Minas and was part of the production team for the Oscar-winning film K-Pop Demon Hunters.

I was a Brazilian full scholarship (ProUni) recipient during my undergraduate studies and also worked as a professor at the university. Today, I work as a Senior Software Engineer at Sony Pictures Imageworks, and I was part of the engineering team for the film, which won the Oscar for Best Animated Feature Film and Best Original Song.

On the project, I worked in the engineering area, developing and ensuring the technologies that enable artists to create high-quality, efficient animations and visual effects.

My education at PUC Minas was fundamental in allowing me to build this career path and work on major international film productions.

If I could give one piece of advice to those who are studying, it would be: seize opportunities, dedicate yourself, and don’t be afraid to dream big. University can be the start of incredible paths.

C’est un honneur de revenir, même virtuellement, dans l’institution où j’ai obtenu mon diplôme en informatique et où j’ai également travaillé comme professeur dans les programmes d’informatique et de systèmes d’information.

Bonjour à tous, je m’appelle Ramon Figueiredo. Je suis un ancien étudiant de la PUC Minas et j’ai fait partie de l’équipe de production du film oscarisé K-Pop Demon Hunters.

J’ai bénéficié d’une bourse d’études complète (ProUni) pendant mes études de premier cycle et j’ai également été professeur à l’université. Aujourd’hui, je travaille comme ingénieur en logiciel sénior chez Sony Pictures Imageworks, et j’ai fait partie de l’équipe d’ingénierie du film, qui a remporté l’Oscar du meilleur film d’animation ainsi que celui de la meilleure chanson originale.

Sur ce projet, j’ai travaillé dans le domaine de l’ingénierie, en développant et en garantissant des technologies permettant aux artistes de créer des animations et des effets visuels de haute qualité et performants.

Ma formation à la PUC Minas a été fondamentale pour me permettre de construire ce parcours professionnel et de travailler sur d’importantes productions cinématographiques internationales.

Si je pouvais donner un conseil aux étudiants, ce serait : saisissez les opportunités, investissez-vous pleinement et n’ayez pas peur de rêver grand. L’université peut être le point de départ de parcours incroyables.
